An Advance Directive is a document or verbal statement in which a person age 18 years or older states whether the person would accept or refuse medical treatment, or names someone whom the person desires to make treatment choices if the person loses decision making capacity.
It is rather difficult for individuals to think that they may succumb to an injury or disease that would render them incapable of making decisions for themselves. Advance Directives allow us, while still of sound mind, to state our preferences for medical treatment clearly so that said preferences may be honored in the event we cannot speak for ourselves.
At Robbins and Seville, LLC, our attorneys can complete an Advance Directive for you to instill peace of mind for both you and your family regarding what medical procedures to follow in the event you are hospitalized or incapacitated.
